Biography

Ron’s interest in magic was sparked at a typically early age by an uncle who dabbled in the art as a hobby; the performing bug had bitten!

Although a significant and visible part of the Toronto magic community since 1990, he has been performing both on- and off-stage since the mid 60s with appearances in many revue and variety shows.

Formal Ron

High School introduced Ron to both dramatic and musical roles (he is an accomplished guitarist) while university found Ron performing in several comedy revues with one of Canada’s oldest theatre companies. He has even done some standup comedy so it should come as no surprise that his magic has a comic edge.

Ron combines elements of music, comedy and drama to entertain his audiences; storytelling is a significant part of many of his shows. And all shows feature a lot of audience participation. In a twenty minute club set he may use more than twenty volunteers. Everyone gets involved when Ron takes the stage.

Ron takes his art seriously. In addition to studying the art of magical performance (he is an alumnus of Mystery School which was featured on the CBC’s W5 program) he is an ongoing student of improvisation and acting. The results are evident in Ron’s unique style of theatrical magic.

Ron calls himself The Conjurian. You probably won’t find the word in your dictionary; it just means he’s going to mess with your mind. Badly! And he’s been doing just that with his featured mental and bizarre magic in cities from Ottawa to Vancouver and New York to Los Angeles.

Whether it’s Mingle Magic up close and personal, mystifying feats of mental telepathy, or laughing with the kids at a neighbourhood or family gathering, you owe it to yourself to find out why so many agents and event planners already rely on Ron to deliver a memorable performance.
