An Evening of Magic

An Evening of Magic

Fairview Library Theatre

June 19, 1996

The Sid Lorraine Hat and Rabbit Club, Ring 17, Toronto, Canada. recently presented "An Evening of Magic". The show was open to the public as well, and attracted about 150 people at the Fairview Library Theatre. Everything about it was first class, from the great art design of the tickets and program by newly elected Vice President Ron Guttman, to the organization by the producer, Ring President, Gerry Frenette.

Ron Guttman entertained with some Mental Magic opening with a "Guess the Number of Gumballs" skit, which played well with the audience.

In “Fragmentation,” Ron explored the concept of synchronicity pitting the random selections of a dozen words from a dozen audience members against the independently selected word by a volunteer from a magazine. AMAZINGLY! They matched!

In “Sketch Pad Card Rise” a deck of cards was drawn on a sheet of paper and the spectator’s card visibly rose from the drawing. When the sheet was torn from the pad and handed to the spectator, the picture showed only the selected card protruding from the deck. The audience response echoed the success of Ron’s performance.
