Performing as The Party Magician , Ron Guttman has been delivering premium magical entertainment for all types of audiences for almost 30 years, not just around Toronto, the GTA, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Markham, Mississauga, and Brampton, but all around York, Peel and Durham regions. Ron likes to say, “Have show; will travel!” That’s because his performances have taken him all over Ontario and far beyond, too. Ron’s interest in magic was sparked at a typically early age by an uncle who dabbled in the art as a hobby and the performing bug bit! When Average Just Won’t Do!

First and foremost, Ron considers himself an entertainer, and with his featured Family Magic Show called Shenanigans , he has been entertaining audiences in cities across Canada and beyond. You’ll be glad to know that Ron is considered one of Toronto’s top children’s entertainers. He began performing seriously while still in the 8th grade. High school and university saw him appearing in revue and variety shows in comedic, dramatic and musical roles. Later, his proficiency as a guitarist landed him an appearance on a CBC Superspecial with noted guitarist and musician Mason Williams. He has even done some standup comedy so it should come as no surprise that his magic has a comic edge! Ron combines elements of music, comedy and drama to entertain his audiences; storytelling is a significant part of many of his shows. And all of his shows feature a lot of audience participation. In a twenty minute club set he may use more than twenty volunteers! Everyone gets involved when Ron takes the stage. There are no safe seats!

Award-Winning Magic

Each year The Sid Lorraine Hat & Rabbit Club , the Toronto chapter of the International Brotherhood of Magicians holds a stage magic competition. For several years, Ron consistently placed among the top three competitors. In 2006, Ron walked away with top honours with his unique presentation of the classic “locked deck” routine called Bagels and Locks.
